One Way to Influence Lawmakers - Contact Your Representives

As you know, our federal, state, and local governments enact laws that often dramatically affect our lives and our pocketbooks.

Will your efforts have any effect?

State and federal government legislators (lawmakers) carefully consider viewpoints expressed by their constituents.  Such views do effect their decisions. Your elected representatives want to hear from you.  They need to hear from you.  We live in an age of intense lobbying efforts by powerful special interest groups.  Therefore, more than ever, your voice needs to be heard by your officials before they vote on key legislative bills.

You do not need expertise on the issue of concern.  You can still contact your official representatives. Your interest and concern about the issue is what counts most, not your knowledge.

I’ve created a web page on my website that will make it easy for you to either telephone, fax or email your representatives.  Here is the link to that page:

If you care about the future and direction of our country and state, I urge you to take a few minutes and write to your elected representatives.  My webpage linked above makes it easy.

There’s a saying that: “Knowledge that is used, sticks.”  Accordingly, why not write your senators now and express your views on this extremely important immigration issue.  Hopefully, you will develop a habit of becoming involved in making your voice heard.
